Description organisation:

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality has come into existence in the year 1964 and is the higher education institution with the longest tradition in Slovakia. The professionals deal except the basic high-school and doctorate education system also with some basic and applied research in the area of tourism and hotel management, they provide courses of a lifelong education, arrange research seminars and conferences, edit professional magazine Economic Revue of Tourism and do counselling and consultations. The study at the department lasts five years and is divided into the Bachelor Degree and the Master Degree. The basic bachelor study [Bc.] is orientated towards corporate economics. It lasts for three years and is completed by a final exam. The graduate of this programme is able to work in the field of operational management, is able to organise and lead the employers in the hotel, hospitality and travel agency enterprises, communicate in two foreign languages. The master degree study programme lasts for two years. The student can study in three main specialisation: hotel and hospitality management [accredited by EFAH], travel agency management and intercultural communication in tourism. The master degree study programme is completed by a final exam in the subject of study, including the support of thesis work. The graduates are given the title Dipl. Ing. The faculty also offers a doctorate study and the doctorates are given the degree of doctor of philosophy [PhD.]. The Faculty of Economics has been registered by ISO 9001 in 1999.

Description:

The student dormitory has different types of rooms shared by 3, 2 or 1 student. Every two rooms build a unit together with the toilette and washbasin or bathroom. The monthly rent for furnished accommodation might be from €6,- up to €12,- The fridge is not in every room and meanwhile no dormitory has a washing machine.
